About the Scène collection :
Created in 1999 in collaboration with the Verlag der Autoren, the collection Scène puts out a new work each year bringing together five plays by contemporary French language authors translated into German. Well recognised by German theatres, Scène has, since its creation, contributed very directly to reinforcing the presence of contemporary French authors on the German stage. This has been managed through numerous channels including producing French texts in German, setting up festivals around contemporary French playwrights (Halle, Karsruhe, Hamburg), inviting French productions and organising reading cycles. Since autumn 2006, Scène has been edited by Theater der Zeit (www.theaterderzeit.de), one of the leading publishing houses in the field of contemporary theatre. Scène 9 came out in October 2006; Scène 10 will be out in October 2007.
