Actes du Théâtre n°91 May 2016

Clément Michel, a playwright, actor and director, was born in Paris in 1974.
He wrote his first play, Le Carton, in 1999, a comedy that opened at the Lucernaire in 2001 and went on to become a huge hit. Performed over a thousand times in ten years (Comédie de Paris, Variétés, Tristan Bernard, Palais des Glaces), it has been translated and staged in Poland, Italy, Mexico and Spain, and a film adaptation starred Omar Sy and Bruno Salomone.
His second play, Début de fin de soirée, ran for the entire 2005/2006 season at the Comédie de Paris and was staged in Quebec the following year.
In 2009, Le Grand Bain opened at the Théâtre Michel and ran for over 200 performances in Paris and on tour.
From 2011 to 2015, his fourth play Une semaine... Pas plus ! was a smash hit at the Gaîté Montparnasse, the Hébertot, the Béliers Parisiens, the Théâtre Michel, the Fontaine then at the Saint-Georges. It has already been translated and staged in Russia, Korea, Spain, Mexico, Turkey, Finland and Germany.
As a director Clément was nominated for a César award in 2011 for his short film Une pute et un poussin. His first feature-length film, La Stratégie de la poussette, was released in January 2013.
Addition, his fifth play, opens June 10, 2016 at the Théâtre de la Gaîté Montparnasse.
