Actes du Théâtre n°87 December 2015

Véronique Olmi, after studying drama with Jean-Laurent Cochet, was assistant director to Gabriel Garran and Jean-Louis Bourdon from 1990 to 1993. A playwright, her first novel, Bord de Mer, was published by Actes Sud in 2001 and awarded the Prix Alain Fournier. Another novel, Cet été-là, was awarded the Prix des Maisons de la Presse in 2011. Her work has earned international recognition, has been translated into twenty languages and her plays have been performed both in France and abroad. In 1998, Le Passage opened in Lausanne and Chaos debout at the Festival d'Avignon, staged by Brigitte Jaques Wajeman and Jacques Lassalle, and both plays were revived at the Théâtre des Abbesses. Point à la ligne premiered at the Comédie Française (Vieux Colombier) staged by Philippe Adrien. Mathilde opened at the Théâtre du Rond-Point (Renaud Barrault Theater) starring Pierre Arditi and Ariane Ascaride and staged by Didier Long. Je nous aime beaucoup premiered at the Petit Théâtre de Paris staged by José Paul. Une séparation opened at the Théâtre des Mathurins, staged by Jean-Philippe Puymartin and Anne Rotenberg.
In 2012, with Anne Rotenberg and Michèle Fitoussi, she created the Theater Festival Le Paris des Femmes, held every year at the Théâtre des Mathurins.
She created and ran the reading committee for the Théâtre du Rond-Point(director: Jean-Michel Ribes).
She was asked by Laure Adler to produce and host the C’est entendu ! radio show on France Culture.
