Dominick Parenteau-Lebeuf was born in Quebec in 1971. She spent part of her youth in France and in Australia. Since earning a degree in playwriting from the National Theatre School of Canada (1994), she has written several plays, including Hamlette, conte à une voix de fille soûle comme une Polonaise (Th. d’Aujourd’hui, 1996), Poème pour une nuit d’anniversaire (Th. Espace Libre, 1999), L’Autoroute (Th. Le Carrousel, 1999), Dévoilement devant notaire (Th. d’Aujourd’hui, 2002), Portrait chinois d’une imposteure (Th. français de Toronto, 2004; AdT 18), La Petite Scrap (2005), Filles de guerres lasses (Th. d’Aujourd’hui, 2005), Visite guidée (Petit Théâtre du Nord, 2006).
In Europe, she has been on residencies with fitf in Limoges, the Royal Court Theatre in London and with aneth in Paris.
Her plays, translated into Bulgarian, English, German and Italian, have attracted attention in Quebec, where she lives, and abroad.
Her plays are published by Éditions Lansman.
