Actes du Théâtre n° 69 November 2013

Carine Lacroix was born at the age of six when her parents left Paris and took a year off, crisscrossing Europe in a camping-car. Instead of going to school, she wrote, played outside, invented languages, visited ruins and slept under the stars. That year turned out to be decisive, deeply influencing her fondness for words, travel and living outside the box. After working as an actress for ten years she now devotes all her time to writing, mainly for the stage. Burn baby burn, first staged at the Comédie Française in 2010 (directed by Anne-Laure Liégeois), then at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin, in Prague and Munich, was awarded a Beaumarchais-SACD GRANT, a Journées d’auteurs de Lyon Prize, has had numerous translations, and was selected for the SACD Translation Fund. Le Torticolis de la girafe (directed by Justine Heynemann) was staged at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in 2012. L’Insomniaque was written during a residency at the Chartreuse Villeneuve-lès-Avignon in 2006. Radio plays include Ecoute for France Culture and France Inter. In 2011 she did a residency at the Foyer des Jeunes Travailleurs de La Mie de Pain in Paris for workshops and to write A cran. Since 2010 she has organized readings with Moreau at the Train de Vie, a bar in the 10th arrondissement in Paris, featuring guest writers once a month.
Une fille sans personne was awarded the Durance Beaumarchais-SACD/Grignan Prize.
