Jean Franco is a playwright and actor.
He has tried every theater genre, from classical (Shakespeare, Marivaux, Feydeau, Chekhov), boulevard (Mithois, Cooney, Ray and Antrobus), intimist (Bellon, Billetdoux) and absurdist (Dubillard, Ionesco, Pérec) to contemporary (Horowitz, Mélanie, Savignat, Assous), staged by directors including Julien Bertheau, Jean-Luc Moreau, Thomas Le Douarec, Clémentine Célarié, Arthur Jugnot, David Roussel, Étienne De Balasy, Thierry Surace, Annie Boivert and Stéphane Eichenholc.
He has also acted in his own plays: Elle nous enterrera tous... starring Marthe Villalonga, (Théâtre Saint-Georges); Jamais 2 sans 3 with Liane Foly (Théâtre du Palais-Royal), Les Bras m'en tombent !, Soixante Degrés (Théâtre d'Edgar), Le Bocal (Théâtre Montreux Riviera).
He has co-written the following plays with Guillaume Mélanie: Panique au Ministère, starring Amanda Lear and Natacha Amal (Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin, Théâtre de la Renaissance and Théâtre des Nouveautés) and Plein la vue starring Véronique Genest and Philippe Magnan (Théâtre de la Michodière). He has also written, alone or in collaboration: Quinze Août sur palier, Pièces à conviction (Comédie des 3 Bornes), 22 Novembre 63 (Théâtre des Trois Quart, Vevey), La Chieuse (Comédie Caumartin), À l'envers (Théâtre de La Cité, Nice).

He appeared recently in the film La Cage dorée by Ruben Alves.
He was on tour in a play written by and starring Marc Jolivet: La guerre de 14-18 aura-t-elle lieu ?
He wrote and performed in Un week-end sur deux et la moitié des vacances scolaires with Guillaume Mélanie. Together they cowrote La Candidate, the sequel to Panique au ministère starring Amanda Lear in the lead role
