(Actes du Théâtre February 2013)

In 1998, Simon Grangeat was one of the founders of Traversant 3, a multidisciplinary group of artists making work for young audiences. He continued to work as a writer and director before devoting himself entirely to writing.
His writing is tied to immediately contemporary and political issues, taking the form of poetic compositions, theatrical scenes and contemporary choruses.
In 2011, he was awarded a production grant from the CNT for T.I.N.A. - Une brève histoire de la crise, first staged by the Compagnie Cassandre in 2012. Staged readings of his play were held by the Comédie Française reading office (2012) as well as by the À Mots Découverts collective, as part of the Tuesdays at Noon events at the Théâtre du Rond-Point (2013). It received a special commendation from the Influenscènes reading committee and was read at the Mondays at Fontenay-sous-Bois. The play was also read in 2013 at the CDN d'Angers.
In 2011 he also went on a residency in the Parc Naturel Régional de la Brenne (36) to write Entre les herbes folles, an open-air play designed for young audiences (F.O.L. de l'Indre).
In 2012, he participated in the Binôme #3 project led by Les Sens des mots. Divines désespérances, a text written on that occasion, was read at the Festival d'Avignon (2012) and at the Théâtre du Rond-Point (2012).
During the 2012-2013 season, he has gone on a writing residency in Bourges, at the invitation of éditions Mille univers. During the residency he wrote Le Grand Yaka, a play designed for very young audiences, and began writing his next adult play, tentatively entitled Qu'ils ramassent donc les miettes. In addition to working on these productions he has also developed a number of initiatives focusing on reading and writing contemporary plays, and since 2010 has been the coordinator for the regional component of the Collidram (Collégien de Littérature Dramatique) Prize, organized nationally by the Postures association.
