Nicolas Martinez studied at the Conservatoire de Montpellier and at the École du Théâtre National de Chaillot, then acted in La Dame de chez Maxim staged by Salomé Lelouch, On ne badine pas avec l’amour at the Théâtre 95 directed by Joël Dragutin, Mission Florimont by Sébastien Azzopardi at the Splendid and Une semaine pas plus co-staged by Arthur Jugnot and David Roussel.
He also played the part of Scapin at the Théâtre des Variétés directed by Christophe Glockner.
In 2005, he met Pierre Palmade on a pilot for France 2, after which he was asked to join the group of young actor/writers that was to become the Troupe à Palmade. He has been a part of the Troupe since it was created and has written numerous sketches for it. In 2012, Pierre Palmade gave him carte blanche at the Grand Point-Virgule, a special evening about a totally neurotic character. In the Troupe he has acted in Sketch Collection at the Théâtre de la Gaîté, L'Entreprise at the Théâtre Tristan-Bernard, Le Petit Restaurant at the Comédie de Paris, and has participated as a writer and actor in creating Les Flics at the Comédie de Paris, aired on Paris Première.
He has acted in Le Grand Restaurant 1 and 2 (France 2) by Pierre Palmade.
In 2013 he was a writer and actor on a Comédie + show entitled Enfin te voilà.
In June 2014 he played in Coup de Théâtre(s) at the Théâtre de la Gaîté-Montparnasse, staged by Sébastien Azzopardi.
Since August 28, 2015 he has been in Ça n’arrive pas qu’aux autres at the Café de la Gare, which he co-wrote and co-staged with Benoit Moret.
