Actes du Théâtre n°92 June 2016

Andréa Bescond has been dancing since she was three and knew she wanted to be a dancer from a very early age.
She began her training at the école internationale Rosella Hightower then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She won the Most Promising Dancer award at the Grand Concours International de Paris in 98 and began a highly diverse career including modern dance, African dance, hip-hop and krumping. Her versatility earned her dancing roles with choreographers Bill T Jones, Blanca Li, Corinne Lanselle, Georges Momboye and in numerous musical comedies such as Bagdad Café, The Ten Commandments and Romeo and Juliet.
She began acting, directed by Éric Métayer, in The 39 Steps for which she was named Most Promising Actress at the Molières awards, then in Train Fantôme also directed by Éric Métayer.
She acted in Les Grands Moyens with the artists Garnier and Sentou, staged by Arthur Jugnot and David Roussel.
Andréa Bescond was awarded the Molière for Best One-Woman Show for Les Chatouilles ou la danse de la colère and the SACD Prize for Best New Theater Talent this year (2016).
