Actes du Théâtre n°94 October 2016

Tiphaine Gentilleau is the pen of the collective Les Filles de Simone, founded in 2015 with Claire Fretel and Chloé Olivères around the premiere of a new piece, C’est (un peu) compliqué d’être l’origine du monde, at La Loge (Paris) in February 2015 then at the Théâtre du Rond-Point (Paris) in the fall of 2015. The play will continue to tour until 2018.
Les Filles de Simone, all three trained actresses, wanted to achieve their utopian vision of creating a piece for the stage in which there would be a group concept with a flow of ideas, feedback between stage and page, and continuous active research. They set up a group creative process in which Tiphaine is responsible for the writing, Claire for the staging and Chloé for making them fit together. Les Filles de Simone create a dialogue onstage between their intimate experiences and the political dimension of their reflections on social issues.
C’est (un peu) compliqué d’être l’origine du monde is their first play, published by Actes Sud-Papiers.
