Actes du théâtre n° 81.[ imprimer ]
It’s the story of a boy who tells stories. Who got into the habit of doing it at an age when the life you have seems far below the life you imagine.
We all need to find meaning in what we experience. In a certain sense we’re all telling our stories. Maybe we need to tell them in order to live through them?
The young man in this story hasn’t found any other way to feel alive.

‘‘I discovered Pauline Sales in 2008 and as a director I wanted to take on one of her plays, which I think are magnificent and quite unusual. Odyssées en Yvelines gave me a chance to fulfill that desire when they asked me to work on a text by Pauline for young people. It was a long-term project, under favorable conditions, and in direct contact with the teenagers.
The text was disconcerting to me at first.
It really hit me in the gut because the story in the play spoke to me very personally.’’
Kheireddine Lardjam, director of the play

Opened January 26, 2011 at the Collège Louis Pergaud in Maurepas as part of Odyssées en Yvelines. Then on tour in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 at various junior high and high schools, and at the Préau de Vire.

Director: Kheireddine Lardjam. Cast: Philippe Baronnet.

What do you want me to say?
Do you want to know what I did?
Do you want to know what makes me different from other people?
You don’t believe me?
You’re thinking that guy’s
A pathological liar.
He comes over here.
Doesn’t leave
Says he’s sitting on a mattress full of euros.
Anyone can say that.
Doesn’t cost him anything,
Only saliva,
That’s what he has over us,
A few years
And some saliva,
Saliva, saliva, saliva
His mother must have gotten a discount on it at the maternity ward.
